Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the recent deaths of five police officers who tragically lost their lives while returning from an official duty in Edo State.
The incident occurred two weeks ago, and Ganduje visited the families of the deceased in Bichi town, Kano State, to offer his condolences.
During his visit, Ganduje emphasized the importance of supporting grieving families and expressed that the loss was a profound tragedy for both the police force and the nation.
He mentioned that the officers had made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country and acknowledged that ten other officers were injured in the accident.
In recognition of the officers' service, Ganduje personally donated N2 million to each of the five bereaved families and N1 million to the ten injured officers.
He noted that the APC has a tradition of standing by families in times of sorrow, ensuring that they do not feel isolated in their grief.
Accompanying Ganduje, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, also expressed his sorrow over the incident.
He highlighted the personal impact of the tragedy, describing the fallen officers as part of his extended family due to their service in the Bichi constituency.
