Customs CG’s Wife Donates Food, Cash To 50 Widows.

Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, President of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association and wife of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, distributed food items and cash gifts to 50 widows of customs officers on Friday at the Ogun 1 Area Command in Idiroko.

Adeniyi also provided writing supplies, such as books and math sets, to primary and secondary school students involved in customs service. 54 of them who excelled academically were given scholarships at the same time.

According to the wife of the CG, the thoughtful act was done to let the wives of the fallen officers know that they are never far from their minds and that they will always provide whatever assistance that can be provided.

According to Adeniyi, her visit to Ogun I Area Command demonstrated the Customs' dedication to improving the welfare of the spouses and kids of its officers.

She claimed that her leadership is acutely aware of the particular difficulties faced by the families of customs officers, especially those stationed in hazardous border areas like Idiroko, where the officers' continuous battles with smugglers, traffickers, and criminals frequently have a negative impact on both the officers and their families.

But Adeniyi has urged the women to continue being strong and devout while motivating their husbands to keep doing everything in their power to protect the country.

She said, “As wives and mothers, we know firsthand the anxieties, fears, and sacrifices that come with having our loved ones on the frontlines.

“The threat of danger is ever-present, and the pressure on their shoulders can sometimes weigh heavily on us too. But I stand here today to encourage every one of you: Remain steadfast.

“Stay prayerful. Continue to support your husbands with strength and courage. Your unwavering support is not just a comfort to them, but a vital source of inspiration that helps them carry out their duties diligently. Together, as families and as a community, we have a critical role to play in keeping Nigeria safe.”

Adeniyi urged the women to keep going and always participate in worthwhile capacity building so they could become even more equipped to support their families and advance national development.

In addition to working together to advance Ogun 1 Area Command, she urged the women to uphold COWA's core values of empowerment, solidarity, and compassion.

Adenike Folu-Ojo, the Chairperson of the Ogun 1 Area Command COWA, had earlier praised Adeniyi for her unceasing efforts to support the spouses and kids of the fallen officers as well as those who are still serving.

Although the loss of the fallen heroes is obviously incalculable, Folu-Ojo observed that Adeniyi's visit is a ray of hope for their families, adding that COWA's unwavering presence and support lessens the weight of the sorrow.

She added that the women in Ogun 1 Area Command have been motivated by the CG's wife's national leadership to continue being strong, helpful, and dedicated to putting in a lot of effort to support the command's families both materially and emotionally.

Folu-Ojo encouraged Adeniyi to keep up her inspiring leadership, promising the members of Ogun 1 Area Command COWA's support for the common goal of giving the families of both serving and deceased officers a much higher quality of life.
