VIDEO: PMAN President, Pretty Okafor Return, Takes Over As National Secretary, His Deputy Are Sacked.

Amidst his controversial suspension and purported take-over by some aggrieved members of the music association, the National President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Dr. Pretty Okafor has returned back into the country from his trip abroad and has assumed at his office at the national headquarters off PMAN.

In a video Pretty Okafor sent to "News Platform" exclusively, he said he had to return to answer to some of the issues raised by those who claimed to have suspended him and to help set some of the records straight as misinformation is spreading in the media on the situation of things at PMAN.

The return and resumption of Pretty Okafor saw to the sacking of the now former National Secretary, Boniface Itodo and his deputy, former assistant National Secretary Bern Faga Paul. Their sacks same after evaluation of their characters and competence on the discharge of their various and were found not fit to hold the positions they occupied at PMAN, therefore the decision to let them go.

Contained in the statement made available to this medium read, "the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) convened an emergency meeting on August 23, 2024, to deliberate on the suspension of Mr. Pretty Okafor, President of PMAN, by the National Working Committee (NWC) and to address the subsequent appeal submitted by Mr. Okafor. After careful consideration of the facts and the PMAN Constitution, the NEC hereby resolves as follows.

The NEC directed the National Working Committee (NWC) to maintain status quo regarding the suspension of Mr. Pretty Okafor's and the Chapter Governors/Sole Administrators. No further actions should be taken by the NWC concerning these suspensions until a full hearing is conducted in accordance with the PMAN Constitution.This decision ensures fairness and adherence to due process.

Furthermore, the NEC said that in accordance with Article 13 (C) (ii) of the PMAN Constitution, the NEC has resolved to appoint a National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) consisting of a Chairman and four (4) other members. T

he NDC is mandated to investigate the allegations of misconduct and breaches of the Constitution or Code of Conduct by Mr. Pretty Okafor and the Chapter Governors/Sole Administrators, as referred to it by the NWC as NEC hereby acknowledges the constitution of the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) to address the allegations of misconduct levelled against Mr. Pretty Okafor and the suspended Chapter Governors/Sole Administrators. 

The members of the NDC have been carefully selected to ensure a fair and impartial review process, in accordance with Article
