The National President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Dr. Pretty Okafor has reportedly been removed from office by those who didn't like his style of leading the music union body and has installed one of their own and foremost musicians, Sunny Neji as interim President to oversee the affairs of PMAN.
The exclusive information obtained by "News Platform" has it that the now suspended National President, Pretty Okafor is in faraway Spain attending to PMAN business when some members hatched the kangaro impeachment led by the National Secretary of PMAN, Boniface Itodo, aka, Aital Bunny.
According to available information, the disgruntled members had to use the opportunity that Pretty is out of town to orchestrate and carry out the hatchet plan of his removal, which this platform just learned had been in the works for a very long time, but they didn't see the opportunity to carry out till he traveled out of Nigeria.
In their suspension letter exclusively obtained by "News Platform", the orchestrators of this impeachment stated as one of their grouse against him, the fact that Pretty Okafor directed a PMAN property developer to deposit $40,000 (Forty thousand dollars) into his personal domiciliary account without proper authorization from the NWC, which according to them, violates of constitutional dubieties according to information irked them against him simply because he refused to bring out PMAN money for them to share for their personal use.
Speaking with "News Platform" from Spain, the embattled National President, Pretty Okafor told this platform that truly, a query was sent to him in Spain, and he took time to respond to all the issues raised in the query one after another only to be awakened by the news of my suspension this morning.
Responding to the query, the National President of PMAN, Pretty Okafor had to answer the query but yet, those whose duty is to take back the reputation Pretty had built for PMAN since he took over the affairs of the music body to 100yrs would not be well till they see to the ruins of PMAN, which well-meaning members and state governors will not allow to happen.
Those who purportedly suspended him have not such powers to do so and this will be straightened up when the time is ripe, but, PMAN must continue to move forward, as those whose vision is backwardness will not be allowed to have their way.
