The embattled National President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Dr. Pretty Okafor has opened up on the reasons behind the purported suspension carried out today by some very bitter and disgruntled members of the musician union body.

In the video he sent exclusively to "News Platform" from Spain, the PMAN National President berated those he regards as jokers who issued him the suspension stating that they did so because he refused to open the vault of PMAN for them to feast on.

According to this video, Pretty Okafor said that what happened today happened because of greed as those who carried out this kangaru suspension had tried to impeach him last year when he was out of the country like this because he refused to share the money that was meant for the PMAN radio equipment purchase when he insisted on purchasing the equipment for the PMAN FM.

The problem this year is that I brought a developer to manage the PMAN property in Abuja but for two years, the developer wasn't to do anything and because of that, I went all the way to get a funder from Brazil who would provide us 40Billion Naira for the PMAN estate in Abuja. 

But some members including the National Secretary were now doing deals behind me with the developer who had promised them apartments in the estate without my knowledge, so they wanted to divert the 40billion naira I got for the project to the developer.

When I insisted that I would not allow them route the money from Brazil to a developer we knew had no capacity to build us high risers, they decided to do what they thought was the best thing for them to do just so they could have their way in my absence.

But the truth is, I don't have a problem with whatever they have done, but once the NEC, ie, the National Executive Counsel, being the highest decision-making body in PMAN says, look, Pretty park your load and go, I will go, not the NWC (National Working Committee) or these bunch of people that haven't been to the office for one year, who don't contribute to the running of PMAN, neither have they brought in any business to PMAN, all they care about is how to share and share everything PMAN has including some of the ones they did not bring.

The day I decide to leave PMAN, these bunch of people will sell all the properties of PMAN you see today, including the national headquarters, which they had tried to do before today.
