Africa's Pioneer Female Talking Drummer & PMAN Governor In Lagos, Ara Honored In America!

Ara, Africa’s foremost female talking drummer was, on 23rd August (2024), awarded a prestigious honor by the Mayor of Yeadon in Delaware County of Pennsylvania State.

Mayor Rohan Hepkins conferred on Ara the ‘Trail Blazers’ award, inline with the recognition of Ara in his Borough as an exceptional Trail Blazer.

Ara is currently on a professional tour of the United States of America.

In accepting the honor, Ara expressed gratitude to Mayor Hepkins and the entire people of Yeadon for recognizing her contribution to the promotion and preservation of African culture and heritage.

She identified the honor as most inspiring to her Afrocentric pursuit in the global arts, culture and entertainment industry.


Excerpts of her acceptance speech read as follows: ‘My love for all humanity is unwavering. I love all cultures. African culture and heritage deserve more exposure and promotion in the international community. My work is defined by but not limited to the profoundness of Yoruba Talking Drum of the motherland. This award proves that my years of commitment to the vision and mission of bringing better global understanding and appreciation to African culture and heritage has not being in vain. 

I express my deep and sincere gratitude to Mayor Hepkins and I promise to keep doing the good work’.
Ara is scheduled to meet key-interest-drivers of America’s arts, culture and entertainment industry.
