What I Went Through In The Hands Of My Kidnappers - ABSU Deputy Vice Chancellor, Emezue.

Godwin Emezue.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Academics, Professor Godwin Emezue, has thanked God for saving him from kidnappers.

Emezue, who gave thanks at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia during a thanksgiving service put together by the Umuahia South branch of Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International, in collaboration with the office of the Chief of Staff, Abia State government house, said that his experience spending eleven days in the captivity of kidnappers was a terrible one he would like to forget.

The DVC said that those who kidnapped him repeatedly threatened to kill him if he did not meet their demands.

He said that his faith in the ability of God to rescue him alive remained strong throughout the eleven-day ordeal.

He thanked Governor Alex Otti for his commitment to saving his life and appreciated his wife, Kate Emezue, and the Emezue family for their prayers and untiring efforts in saving his life.

Emezue also thanked his colleagues in Abia State University, members of the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International and the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia for their efforts.

Recall that Emezue was in January 2024 kidnapped by hoodlums in Umuahia while fueling his car. He was freed from captivity after spending eleven days in the kidnappers' den.

Governor Alex Otti while briefing Abia people early in April, announced that the principal suspect who kidnapped the Deputy Vice-Chancellor was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos while fleeing overseas. The Governor added that the second suspect in the matter was also apprehended in Port Harcourt.
