The conflict between the former First Lady of Ondo State, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and the niece of her late husband and former governor, Olurotimi Akeredolu, Funke Aruna, took a new dimension as the former first lady took the fight to the private WhatsApp of Funke.
In
a leaked WhatsApp conversation between the two women, the duo engaged in hot argument
and exchange of unprintable words against each other and in the messages, Betty
accused Funke of warming the bed of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Betty
further described Funke as ‘Leper’, saying that she was a ‘power interloper’
and a ‘treacherous monster’.
In
response, Funke mocked Betty for not succeeding in becoming Imo Senator,
advising her to concentrate on fish farming rather than venturing into partisan
politics.
“Precious
Eze’s Blog” had reported earlier that Betty berated Funke for
backing the governorship ambition of Aiyedatiwa.
In
the Instagram post, Betty blasted Akeredolu’s niece for supporting Aiyedatiwa
in his quest to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the governorship
election in the state.
According
to her post, she says, “Behold the face of Aketi’s niece, Funke Akeredolu
Aruna, the former deputy chief protocol to Aketi, shamelessly parades as “I’M
LUCKY,” adding,
“Time
will tell if she is truly lucky!”.
Funke
was a former deputy chief of protocol in the state. Betty’s outrage came after
her late husband’s niece shared a photo of herself on social media wearing an
outfit to support Aiyedatiwa.
While
many have faulted her comments, the development is seen as the continuation of
the faceoff between Akeredolu’s wife and Aiyedatiwa whom she never liked nor
hid the fact that she never liked him, but as God may have it, the Angels of
heaven orchestrated the part that brought what Betty thought would never happen
into fruition without a singular contribution by Lucky Aiyedatiwa or anyone
close to him.
Before
Akeredolu’s demise in December 2023, the duo had been in animosity owing to
claims of disloyalty against Aiyedatiwa who was the then deputy governor to her
husband, Rotimi Akeredolu and it happened that just as former Deputy Governor
of Edo State, Philip Shaibu prayed for Omobola Godwin, God was already
orchestrating the impeachment of Shaibu to have him replaced by the same
Omobola he prayed for.
In
the case of Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and Lucky Aiyedatiwa, she didn’t know that
God who know our today from years before, had already marshaled out plans to
make him Governor of Ondo State at a time like this, so, all she did against
him were just part of the plan of God to bring to fulfillment, what He (God)
had planned for him (Lucky).
And
in the tone of the altercation between Betty and Funke, it looks like she would
employ every means at her disposal to frustrate the governorship ambition of
Lucky Aiyedatiwa but just as He (God) frustrated her initial plans against him,
He (God) will do it again.
