Ihedioha & Otti. |
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, played host to former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and few months Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha in his country home in Isialangwa on Sunday, after Ihedioha purportedly resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party, the PDP.
This visit is against
our previous speculation that Ihedioha’s resignation from the PDP was
orchestrated by Governor Hope Uzodimma, whom we initially heard had promised to
hand over to him when his tenure expires in 2027, but that wasn’t to stay long
as speculation with his visit to the only Governor of the Labour Party in
Nigeria.
The new twist is
that the visit of Ihedioha was to begin the process of his full movement into
Labour Party to familiarize himself with workings in the party as “Precious
Eze’s Blog” have also gathered his next point would be a formal visit
to the National leader of the party and it’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter
Obi.
But with the way the
quest to return to Douglas House in Owerri has become the first agenda to
Ihedioha before and when he wakes up baffles one considering that he knowingly
and freely gave up his mandate to the highest bidders in Imo State when he was
Governor and now, he is doing everything to get it back through the Labour
Party.
What we hear was
that after the welcome reception organized for him, Governor Otti and Ihedioha retired
into a closed-door meeting in the home of the Governor.
You would recall
that last week, Emeka Ihedioha had, tendered his letter of resignation to the
PDP, citing the inability of his former party to resolve some lingering
internal crisis and 24 hours after his exit, the PDP in Imo State, was hit by a
wave of resignations by its key national members and officials, including the
party’s chairman, Chief Charles Ugwu and from the little we know, the meeting
is all about finalising arrangements for Ihedioha to join the LP, and Otti,
supporting him will be a big boost for his (Ihedioha’s) political ambition in
2027, using the LP’s platform.”
